Taking on the lion in his den
Former Union Minister, G.M. Siddeshwara was holding a meeting in Davanagere recently to thank BJP workers for the party’s commendable performance in the assembly elections, when he targeted his rival , Shamanoor Shivashankarappa several times. Although he did not mention the Congress leader by name, it became apparent to everyone who he was referring to when he said, "We have leaders, who want to have every road and park named after them. The ring road and other projects were approved by the BJP and their foundation was laid when it was in power. But on completion, the roads were named after living persons in violation of the High Court ruling.” Listening to him talk, a party worker told a reporter, "Sir, what is our leader saying? We are holding this convention in the Shamanoor Shivashankarappa choultry!"Much sniggering and laughter followed.
