Man ends life, writes note to Karnataka CM

The incident took place on Friday morning in Jigani police station limits.

Bengaluru: A 24-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself to the ceiling after writing a suicide note addressed to Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, requesting him to take action against his former factory owner and managers for torturing him.

The incident took place on Friday morning in Jigani police station limits. The deceased has been identified as Tejas Kumar, son of Kantharaju, a resident of Jigani and hailing from Channapatna.

He was working at a private factory in Jigani since January 2017. According to the police, in May he left that factory and joined another one.

The new factory management asked him to produce a relieving order from the previous one. They, however, claimed that he had not intimated them before leaving their organisation. Hence they were treating him as an absent employee, because of which there was delay in issuing relieving order.

In his suicide note he has alleged that his previous factory owner Mohan Raj and managers Subash and Raghu tortured him and requested Mr Kumaraswamy to take legal action against them.

His father has also filed a complaint against the previous factory management alleging that they did not issue the letter because of which he was not able to resume work in his new factory, and this forced him to end life.

The Jigani police have registered a case and booked all three of them under IPC Section 306 (abetment of suicide).
