Hyderabad: Woman ends life over financial losses
Hyderabad: Prolonged depression over financial losses caused a woman to commit suicide on Friday in Madhapur. “K. Sushma, 27, a resident of Vizag has been working as a trader in the share market at Mumbai for five years and has been investing in shares regularly,” told B. Ravi Kumar, sub-inspector of Madhapur police station.
The deceased came to the city on June 6 and committed suicide on Friday in her hotel bathroom. Her friend tried calling her but when she did not answer for long, the friend approached the hotel staff. Staff opened her room at night, only to find her hanging.
“She came to the city to meet a client and was staying at a hotel. We found a suicide letter which stated that she was depressed for the past one year and was not happy with her life. She suffered financial losses after some of her investments turned into a loss and this financial trouble could have triggered her depression,” added the official.
The deceased wrote in her suicide letter that she did not know how to talk about her ‘disease’ (depression) as it was taboo. According to the suicide note, she was keen on donating her organs.
