HDMA pools158 acres of land
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority has pooled 158 acres of land at Pratap Singaram under the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS). Farmers have given consent to develop 200 acres, and an HMDA official said it would be taken over for development in three days.
According to the official, the HMDA would conduct a survey to check the title deeds to ensure there are no legal disputes and that the land does not belong to the government.
To work out the ratio in which the farmers will be allotted developed plots, the book value of the lands as per the sub-registrar’s office will be doubled and adjusted against the cost of development incurred by the HMDA, subject to a minimum of 30 per cent of developed area to be handed over to the beneficiary.
A senior official said that if this experiment works, the HMDA will pool 1,000 acres of land in Korremula, Gowrelli and Nacharam. “Under the LPS scheme the HMDA would develop plots in 2,800 square yards per acre and the remaining area would be used to provide amenities like, roads, water, electricity and sewerage. Once the regional ring road is completed, the land value would increase,” he said.
