Hyderabad Cricket Association fraud may be probed by CBI

The bench asked all parties to file objections and posted the case to two weeks.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad HC on Friday felt that there was a need to take a decision to entrust the matter of irregularities in the Hyderabad Cricket Association to either the CBI ED, or the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO).

A division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice T Rajani after perusing the report by the committee of administrators comprising former judge of the Supreme Court Justice Anil Ramesh Dave and Justice Seethapathy, a former judge of the Hyderabad with regard to conducting of the recent IPL matches and also with regard to affairs of the HCA , said that they will take a decision in this regard soon. It may be recalled that the HC has appointed the committee to ensure that HCA follow Justice Lodha Committee recommendations while hearing a PIL by M Govinda Reddy, an advocate seeking implementation of Lodha Committee recommendations. The administrators’ committee highlighted some of the sample forensic audit tests done on some high value transactions made by the previous managements of the HCA and the irregularities found. The bench asked all parties to file objections and posted the case to two weeks.
