Hyderabad: Boy dies in freak accident
Hyderabad: A 12-year-old boy who was attempting to climb the gate of a GHMC maintained ground in LB Nagar got stuck in the rods on top of the gate and died on Friday.
The boy Prasanna Kumar Reddy, was a resident of Bank Colony and was studying in Class VII.
On Friday evening, he and his friends went to the ground in the colony. As the gate was locked, the boys climbed the gate and entered inside. After playing they climbed the gate to come out. While the other boys climbed down safely, Prasanna, slipped and fell on the iron rods on top of the gate. The rods pierced his stomach. His friends rushed home and alerted his parents. Prasanna was rushed to hospital, where he was declared dead.
Meanwhile, residents alleged that the ground was under GHMC's control and that it even collected maintenance fee from residents, but was not maintained properly. There was no guard to monitor the ground. If the gates were opened on time the boys would not have climbed the gate.
Based on his father Tirupal Reddy's complaint, a suspicious death case was registered.
