SCR collects Rs 1.26 lakh as penalties

Nearly 152 people were found travelling on unauthorised transfer of tickets i.e. tickets not originally issued on their name.

Hyderabad: Around 894 people were detected travelling without tickets while 908 people were found travelling with irregular tickets, circumventing the law and 255 passengers were detected carrying unbooked luggage, beyond the permissible limit during the special drive conducted by the vigilance department of South Central Railways (SCR).

Nearly 152 people were found travelling on unauthorised transfer of tickets i.e. tickets not originally issued on their name.

The vigilance department of South Central Railway has conducted intensive special drives to curb all types of irregularities and malpractices involving train journeys in the peak traffic months of April and May across all divisions over the Zone. An amount of Rs 12.6 lakh has been collected as penalty for the irregularities detected and charged, during the entire drive.
