Telangana plans to keep teachers in reserve

Mr Srihari said nearly 20 teachers would be kept in reserve at collectorates, to be deployed when regular teachers go leave.

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister and education minister Kadiam Srihari on Tuesday directed all district education officers to introduce digital classrooms in 6,000 schools when the academic year begins in June.

He said biometric attendance system for students and teachers should be introduced by the beginning of the academic year.

While reviewing infrastructure and basic facilities in schools, the minister asked officials to ensure that all students were provided with books and uniforms and the schools had furniture.

Mr Srihari said nearly 20 teachers would be kept in reserve at collectorates, to be deployed when regular teachers go leave, to ensure uninterrupted teaching of students.

In view of this, all the district education officers would be sent to a two-day training session in June by special chief secretary Ranjeev Acharya. Before the commencement of schools, another review meeting will be organised.
