Rate your MLAs, says Kiran Bedi
Puducherry: Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi has appealed to people of Puducherry to assess and rate their legislators to make them more cooperative and environmental friendly.
In a WhatsApp message , Ms Bedi said Raj Nivas is taking steps to award the best legislator and those who get a rating above 70 per cent will get an award, she added.
Meanwhile, Congress charged the Governor of blocking the development of Puducherry.
Senior Congress legislator and parliamentary secretary to Chief Minister K. Lakshminarayanan said on one hand the Lt Governor is stating that Puducherry is reeling under severe financial crisis and steps need to be taken to tackle it while on the other she is blocking all ways the UT could mobilise revenue.
Commencing air service from Puducherry and making the port operational will generate revenue to the Union Territory, and the Chief Minister is making efforts in this direction. But the Lt Governor is functioning in such a way to ensure that both the schemes will not materialise, he alleged.
