Over 370 placed on day 2 PG medical counselling
Chennai: Over 370 candidates of the 400 who were to appear for the second day of PG counseling were allotted seats in government medical colleges across the state.
“Each day will be witnessing three phases of counseling, and the process has been proceeding smoothly," said Dr Selvaraj, secretary, Selection Committee. Stating that the seats among the 762 ones that are not filled in phase I will be taken up in the second phase which is to begin next week. Six among the top got placed in Madras Medical College (MMC), two in Stanley Medical College and one each in Kilpauk Medical College and Coimbatore Medical College.
“After having written the service exam, my cut off rose from 1143 to 1486,” said topper Dr Buvaneshwari of Theni district, a graduate of 2013, has got a seat in the department of obstetrics and gynaecology at MMC.
“I was hoping to get into the dermatology department at Madurai Medical College and I am so happy that it has come true,” said Dr Pushpa Vani, who ranked 17th. Counselling will continue on Wednesday.
