Chennai: Woman techie pushed down from 2-wheeler
Chennai: Just four days after a woman software professional was pushed down and injured by chain snatchers on OMR aka IT highway, in Kelambakkam, another woman techie on a two wheeler, who resisted and tried to protect her 3 sovereign gold chain, was injured after being pushed down on Monday night by a duo on a two wheeler who escaped with her gold ornament near Pallavaram.
The incident happened on Thuraipakkam - Pallavaram radial road at around 10.30 pm when the 28-year-old woman software professional, working in a IT major in Taramani, was going to her home in Tiruneermalai on her two wheeler. Two men on another bike intercepted her when she was nearing Pallavaram.
The pillion rider of the bike tried to snatch her chain which she resisted. The thieves then pushed her down to the road and snatched her chain before speeding away in their bike.
Other motorists on the road stopped their vehicle and helped admit the woman to hospital. It may be recalled that on last Thursday night a 38-year-old woman software professional travelling pillion on her husband's bike suffered injuries when she fell down on OMR on the Kelambakkam — Thaiyur stretch after a bike borne duo snatched her gold chain.
The victim, Poornima, working in a tech firm, was picked up her husband Dr Pugazhendi around 10 pm on Thursday and two were heading towards their flat in Ultra apartment in Thaiyur when the incident happened.
