Vijayawada: The YSRC’s campaign appears to have ended on a high note. The campaign song of the party Ravali Jagan Kavali Jagan garnered 20 million views on You Tube. On March 31, the song recorded 10 million views. It has become the most watched political campaign song on YouTube. The campaign song was launched on February 26. The official campaign song of the YSRC has over 10 million views after it was uploaded onto the Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) YouTube channel on March 8.
Ravali Jagan, Kavali Jagan (We want Jagan, Jagan should win) is the slogan coined by I -PAC, the campaign vehicle of te YSRC in 2018. Under the banner, the party cadre had previously run a month-long outreach programme to highlight Jagan Mohan Reddy’s poll promises.
The song captures the mood of the people of Andhra Pradesh who are fed up with the false promises of the current dispensation, said a I-PAC representative.
The song describes how the lives of people belonging to the backward castes are burning in the flames of loans, how people are being cheated in the name of DWCRA loan waiver for women, how youth are cheated with false promise of jobs, and the pain that is being felt by pensioners. The video mostly contains shots of Jagan Mohan Reddy interacting with people of all communities from across the state during his 3,648 km Praja Sankalpa Yatra.
The party, during the launch, said it intends to ensure that the song reaches people across the state at the grass-root level. The song was sung by famous playback singer Mano who has many hit songs to his credit. It was composed by Shakthikanth Karthik who has hits like Fidaa (2017) to his credit. The lyrics of the song were penned by Suddala Ashok Teja.
