Telangana: Adivasis not to allow officials into gudems

The Adivasi leaders alleged that KCR neglected them as they had only 10 lakh votes against Lambadas having above 20 lakh votes.

MANKAPUR (ADILABAD): Adivasis of Telangana will liberate themselves from the direct ruling of the state government fr-om the day of formation of Telangana on June 2.

The Adivasi leaders alleged that KCR neglected them as they had only 10 lakh votes against Lambadas having above 20 lakh votes.

The Adivasis of old Adilabad, Warangal, Ka-rimnagar and Khammam will continue their agitation programmes. The Adivasis declared that they will not allow the government officials into their gudems and will not extend their cooperation to the government machinery.

The self-rule is popularly known among the Adivasis as ‘Mava Nate Mava Raj .. Mava Nate Mava Sarkar’ (Our rule in our village.. our government in our village) .

The Adivasis will govern themselves under self-rule of provision given for scheduled areas under the 5th schedule of the Indian Constitution.

Adivasis will unanimously elect their Sarpanches in the local body elections irrespective of party affiliation.

Already, the Adivasi Hakkula Porata Samiti (Thudumdebba) gave June 1 as the deadline to the State Government to resolve their demand ie. removal of the Lambadas from the STs list.

Adivasi writer and research scholar Mypathi Arunkumar questioned the double standards of Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao and asked him why he was not talking about the illegal migration of Lambadas from other states and their exploitation while reminding that KCR had talked much about the illegal migration of Andhra people into Telangana and their exploitation during the Telangana agitation.

Mypathi Arunkumar said KCR has forgot everything he had talked, after becoming the Chief Minister with the help of the Telangana agitation and asked KCR why he did not apply the same rule to Andhra people and the Lambadas.
