CBSE told to conduct exam for one student

The court also directed that the issue should be solved before the valuation of the paper.

KOCHI: The High Court has ordered the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to hold the mathematics examination of class 10 for a single student as the question paper supplied to her during the examination conducted on March 28 was that of the one held two years ago. The court also directed that the issue should be solved before the valuation of the paper. The petition was filed by Ameeya Salim of Mount Carmel Vidya Niketan School in Kottayam after the CBSE failed to take any action about her complaint.

Ameeya came to know about the discrepancy in the question paper during discussions with her schoolmates after the examination. She immediately contacted the mathematics teacher and the school informed the CBSE regional office. But the CBSE did not initiate any action. The matter assumed added significance with the report about the leakage of question paper for class 10 examination. The relatives of Ameeya suspect that the culprits involved in leaking the question paper might have placed the old question paper in the bundle to replace the leaked question paper.
