Will behead those against temple: Hyderabad BJP MLA Raja Singh
Hyderabad: Drunk on the success of their recent election victories, BJP politicians have been creating new controversies by their ill-advised comments.
BJP MLA T. Raja Singh, whose incendiary comments have been widely publicised earlier, has threatened to behead anyone opposing the construction of the Ram Temple at Ayodhya.
Addressing a crowd on the occasion of Sri Rama Navami celebrations on April 5, Mr Singh, who represents Goshamahal constituency in the Hyderabad Assembly, had said on Sunday, “To those who try to stop building Ram Mandir... we were waiting for you to say this so we can behead you.”
We are for chaos, says Raja Singh
Police booked a case against Mr Singh for hate speech. Following a complaint from MBT leader Amjadullah Khan, Dabeerpura police booked a case against the MLA under IPC Section 295 A. “It is our pledge to build a Ram Temple in Ayodhya and we will abide by it. We will give our life for the Ram Temple and take the life of those who oppose the Ram Temple,” Mr Singh told the media on Sunday.
In a video shot on April 5, the MLA had said, “The day is not far... the dream of every Hindu of building a Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Recently, a video came on WhatsApp from UP and someone was saying if Ram Mandir is built they will create chaos. We welcome this. In fact, we were waiting for this day so that when you raise your heads, we can behead you,” he said.
Mr Singh is notorious for his run-ins with the law. He is an accused in several criminal cases. According to police records, in an affidavit filed by him for the 2014 election, Mr Singh had said there are at least 19 criminal cases against him.
