Mumbai: "I'm terrible at maths," quipped Prince William as he interacted and joked with a group of students along with his wife Kate Middleton here.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who arrived here today on the first leg of their maiden visit to India, had free-wheeling interaction with a group of students living in the care of NGO Smile at Banganga water tank in South Mumbai.
The royal couple earlier joined cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar for a game of cricket at Mumbai's iconic recreation ground Oval Maidan.
They met representatives from Smile, an organisation that works for the welfare of underprivileged children, their families and communities. William and Kate joined the children for a game of football and later interacted with them.
"What do you study? Hope you are working hard in your studies and relentlessly pursuing your dreams. What are your favourite subjects?" he asked the children.
"I am terrible at maths...very bad at it," the 33-year-old Prince candidly said when a student said maths was his favourite subject and that he aspired to be a teacher.
William was effusive in his praise for Tendulkar and described him as "a great cricketer who taught me how to bat."
The royal couple sought to know from the students whether they gave priority to physical exercise while focusing on studies and what hobbies they pursued.
When a student said dancing was his hobby, William asked him to show a few steps, even as he and Kate along with members of a crowd present there cheered him.
The Duke and the Duchess interacted with the football coach of the students and on his request, agreed to play the sport amid loud claps from the pupils. Before conclusion of the event, the royal couple wished good luck to the students and advised them to study well and do well in life.
