Mukul Wasnik gets a feel of water shortage
Thiruvananthapuram: AICC general secretary in-charge of the state, Mukul Wasnik, had an awkward moment when he stayed at Thycaud Government Guest House last week: halfway through his bath, the shower stopped. Staff helped him out, supplying four buckets of water.
The 59-year-old leader had taken charge of Kerala more than five years ago and whenever he comes here, the KPCC books a room at Mascot Hotel run by the KTDC.
But at times, they provide him with a room at the guesthouse and this time he arrived early morning on last Saturday to convene the first sitting of the KPCC's election committee after a sleepless flight from New Delhi.
Whenever he arrives, it is KPCC secretary Manacaud Suresh who takes care of his requirements.
"Mukulji was not aware of the water shortage. Halfway through his bath, the shower went dry. After several minutes wait, the staff carried four buckets of water. We were told that out of five water tanks, only one of it has the holding capacity with the remaining facing leaks," Mr Suresh told DC.
But things didn't end there for Mr Wasnik as the air-conditioner in his suite room also became faulty. Finally, the duo took refuge inside Mr Suresh's car. They wandered in the capital city and cooled off by having sugarcane juice from the Museum gate before heading to Indira Bhavan by 10:30 am.
