Police booked a non-bailable case against the MLA under IPC Sections 143, 149, 353 and 506 for his outburst against the inspector of Vedyapalem police station K. Narasimha Rao late on Thursday.

The legislator had lashed out at the inspector for detaining some YSRC workers after they roughed up two youths carrying out a poll survey at Vengalraonagar in Nellore on Thursday.

A team of police led by Nellore town DSP N.B.M. Murali Krishna came to Mr Sridhar Reddy’s office along with three inspectors at 10 am on Saturday to arrest the MLA.
