Kochi: KC Joseph to appear in Kerala High Court on Friday

The court exempted him from appearance on Thursday in the contempt of court case.

Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of contempt of court proceedings initiated against Minister for Cultural Affairs K. C. Joseph to Friday. Minister K. C. Joseph had sought an adjournment to enable him to be available for veteran Congress leader A. K. Antony who is submitting his nomination for the Rajya Sabha election.

The court exempted him from appearance on Thursday in the contempt of court case and asked him to appear on Friday at 12.30pm. A Division Bench comprising Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan and Justice Sunil Thomas issued the order.

Joseph pointed out that Senior Congress leader A. K. Antony and MP Veerendrakumar were being nominated from Kerala. He said that he had been helping in submitting A. K. Antony’s election papers and his personal appearance was required on that day while submitting the nomination.

In the application, Joseph also pointed out that he had posted an apology on March 4, in his facebook account. According to him, the new post was published throughout the state in all the newspapers on the very next day.
