Telangana: Working on e-vehicle policy, says Ajay Misra

Misra addressed the National Power Summit held on Friday, which was attended by 250 delegates.

Hyderabad: The Telangana government, which is currently working on the development of new industry-friendly policies for the manufacture of solar-powered and e-vehicles, will seek feedback from industry professionals and the public once the draft policies are ready, according to Ajay Misra, the special chief secretary of the energy department.

Mr Misra addressed the National Power Summit held on Friday, which was attended by 250 delegates. He said the industries department was working on the development of an e-vehicle policy and the energy department was working on setting up charging stations for electric vehicles. He said Telangana had achieved significant results in the power sector since its inception, and added that the state would continue to surpass new milesto-nes, including the generation of 10,000 MW power in the thermal sector, in the days to come.

C. Srinivasa Rao, the joint managing director of the TS Transco made a detailed presentation on how Telangana had transformed from darkness to light, and how it had been able to introduce 24x7 free power for the agriculture sector.
