Party leaders defend KT Rama Rao's loafer' remarks

KTR brought out only facts before public again: Karne

Hyderabad: TRS leaders on Friday defended IT minister K.T. Rama Rao’s recent remarks against the Congress and its leaders.

Mr Rama Rao had termed Congress a ‘loafer party’, its leaders ‘worthless’ and AICC president Rahul Gandhi ‘a big pappu in India’.

TRS MLC and whip in Legislative Council Palla Rajeshwar Reddy questioned, “What would one call a party which ruled for the longest period of 55 years in Independent India, yet could not provide even basic facilities to people like drinking water, toilets etc?”

Mr Reddy alleged that Telangana Congress leaders working in the governments during the undivided AP regime have put the interests of Telangana region at stake for their petty political benefits and posts and that Mr Rama Rao was right in comparing them with ‘loafers.’

“Rahul Gandhi could not ensure victory for his party in the municipal election in his home constituency Amethi recently. If he is not called a big pappu in India, what is he? Even the Google search engine has recognised Rahul as big pappu as it gives thousands of ‘pappu’ links within seconds after one searches for pappu on the Inter-net,” Mr Reddy said.

The TRS MLC and whip said that though Mr Rama Rao is younger than Rahul Gandhi, he earned the utmost respect in all the states and countries.

“KTR has acquired stature from Sircilla to Silicon valley. He is being praised as the top IT and industries minister in India. Several Union ministers, Chief Ministers and ministers of other states including Ivanka Trump, have praised KTR for his administrative and oratorical skills. No young leader in the country at present can match his capabilities,” Mr Reddy said.

TRS MLC Karne Prabhakar said the Congress was responsible for the forcible merger of Telangana with Andhra in 1956 and also the delayed formation of Telangana state, which claimed the lives of thousands of those living in Telangana.

“The Congress deser-ved to be called a loafer party for this. What wrong did KTR do? He only brought out the facts before the public again,” Mr Prabhakar added.
