Continue agitation: N Chandrababu Naidu tells TD MPs
Vijayawada: The Chief Minister, Mr N.Chandrababu Naidu, wanted to go with a twofold strategy, over the denial of assistance and ‘rightful share’ to AP, by the Centre. During his interaction with party MPs, on Friday, through a teleconference, the CM wanted the MPs to exert pressure and ensure the result, in favour of the state. The CM also enquired about the conversation that took place between the Union ministers Arun Jaitley and Sujana Chowdary.
Apart from garnering support of the political parties at the national level, the CM wanted the MPs to expose the double standards of the YSRC, at the same time, at national level. The Centr’s non-responsive attitude needs to be exposed, even before national media at New Delhi, CM has suggested to the MPs. In fact, TD MPs protested in Rajya Sabha also, with placards, after Lok Sabha adjourned to March 5, after TD MPs’ protest there, on Friday.
The finance minister Mr Arun Jaitley, on Friday, has just repeated what he stated in Lok Sabha, on Thursday.
Meanwhile the developments at New Delhi, on Friday, have indicated that the Telugu Desam party as well as the state government have garnered the support of various political parties.
Akali Dal has expressed its support to the agitation of TD MPs in Parliament and asked the Union government why the division assurances were not translated into reality. Even TRS MP Dr K. Keshava Rao also extended his support to AP’s genuine demands in Rajya Sabha.
The TD MPs also met the BJP’s senior leader L.K. Advani and explained the seriousness of the situation. They sought his support. The Telugu Desam in one way could succeed in their agitation, by attracting the attention of National political parties and National media, said a TD senior leader. “Now, the entire Delhi is looking at us,” he observed.
After reviewing Friday’s developments at New Delhi, the CM told the MPs that another meeting would be convened at Amaravati in in a couple of days, to plan the future course of agitation plans. The MPs are advised by the Chief Minister to continue their agitation in Parliament, after the Parliament resumes on March 5.
The CM has directed the MPs that they shouldn’t stop their agitation even if the Centre gives an assurance over implementing two to three aspects of the total 19 assurances of AP Reorganization Act. “Continue your agitation till the 19 demands are met,” CM told them and explained the bandh impact in AP. “The people of AP have voluntarily extended their support to the bandh,” CM said and added that the MPs should focus on exposing the double standards of YSRC, as they are trying to please the Union Government, for waiving of cases against their party President.
