Vijayawada: YSR Congress cadre on Wednesday offered 3,648 coconuts, one for every km covered by their party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, to Lord Lakshminarasimha Swamy in the temple at Mangalagiri of Guntur district.
On Wednesday, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy completed his marathon 3,648 km padayatra ‘Praja Sankalpa Yatra’.
YSRC Mangalagiri town president Munagala Malleswara Rao said that the people of the state were vexed with the corruption of the Telugu Desam government and hence had supported Mr Reddy during the Praja Sankalpa Yatra. He said that the people were looking forward to a change of government in the state.
Mr Malleswara Rao said that as Mr Reddy walked for 3,648 km, they offered the same number of coconuts to Lakshminarasimha Swamy and also performed special pujas for the health of their leader.
He said that Mr Reddy created history through with his padayatra and people were pinning high hopes that he would resolve their problems.
Mr Malleswara Rao predicted that the YSRC would win the forthcoming elections with a huge majority and Mr Reddy will be next Chief Minister of the state.
