Vijayawada: A group of around 80 ardent fans of YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy walked along with him all the 3,600 km of the padayatra from Idupulapaya in Kadapa to Ichapuram in Srikakulam. Among them is a physically challenged man who also walked with Mr Reddy’s father Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy in 2003.
Mr Ventaiah, who walked with Rajasekhar Reddy and was also part of YSRC leader Y.S. Sharmila’s walkathon, said, “I do not expect anything in return. I walked with Y.S. Jagan because of my devotion to the YSR family. I yearn to see Y.S. Jagan as chief minister of the state; he should rule like his father.”
Fifty people from Narasapuram in East Godavari district joined the Praja Sankalpa Yatra to help build tents along the route.
Mr Sai Kishore Reddy from Pullampet, who was part of the yatra from day one, said, “I am proud to be a part of this historic walk along with a leader known for his dedication and determination for the state. He is the only leader who can solve all the problems on coming to power.” The yatra will cover 231 mandals and 54 municipalities.
