Hyderabad: Health Reforms Doctors Association (HRDA), on Wednesday, requested principal secretary A. Shanti Kumar, department of health medical and family welfare, to constitute a service board towards the recruitment of assistant professors.
Speaking to this newspaper, Dr K. Mahesh Kumar president of the HRDA said that, “A government order was released in September last year before the state Assembly elections stating that a medical and health services recruitment board will be constituted for the recruitment of assistant professors in all teaching hospitals. However, this was never not implemented.”
“There is a deficit of around 800 assistant professors in the institutes due to the delayed and failed recruitment by the TSPSC. On one side, the state government is releasing government orders to constitute a medical recruitment board and on other side they are recruiting doctors on contract basis,” added Kumar.
