Telangana: Agri student goes missing, alleges teacher's ill-treatment

He was earlier suspended over complaints of ragging from juniors.

Hyderabad: A final year degree student of Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) in Hyderabad went missing on Monday. Rahul Nayak left a note accusing a faculty of ill-treatment.

“Despite requesting him many times to help me understand the subject, he did not respond. Even my father appealed to him and we fell on his feet. If anything happens to me, it is the responsibility of the SSAC practicals,” Rahul wrote. The Rajendranagar police registered a missing case and has started an investigation.

On Monday evening, one of the students found a letter and informed the authorities. Based on the student Shyam Sunder Reddy’s complaint, a missing case is registered.

Rahul, a BSc Agriculture student, was staying in the university. Six months ago, he was suspended after junior students approached the authorities with a ragging complaint against him. Since then, he was staying with friends in a rented room at Premavathipet. Mr G. Suresh, inspector, Rajendranagar, said, “His parents, classmates and friends have been contacted. But nothing has come out. We are verifying all angles.”

Inquiries revealed that Rahul had a backlog in the first year.
