K T Rama Rao lays stone for radial roads

About 35 radial roads have been sanctioned for establishing connectivity between the city roads with national highways.

Hyderabad: Construction of roads should solve the traffic problem in West Zone but land acquisition was a major hurdle for having radial road, said minister K.T. Rama Rao. Four roads as part of extension of radial road were being constructed at Outer Ring Road at a cost of Rs 450 crore.

Mr KTR laid the foundation stones for two radial roads near Nallagandla of Seringalingampally constituency and Kolluru in Patancheru on Tuesday.
“Construction of the Nallagandla radial road 30 is being done at a cost of '100 crore. About 35 radial roads have been sanctioned for establishing connectivity between the city roads with national highways, of which 17 roads have been completed so far,” the minister said. At Patancheru, Rao said, “After construction of Radial Road, Grid Road and National Highways, the face of Kolluru, Patancheru will change. The radial roads in Patancheru are being developed at a cost of Rs 300 crore. A new railway terminal is coming up at Nagulapalli. We will be starting an LED park in the Shiva Nagar area while we have already started a Medical Devices Park.”

As part of Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited (HGCL), the government is going ahead with a planned development of 1km on each side of ORR. He directed the Roads and Bridges officials to complete construction of radial roads quickly.
