Mohammed Ali Shabbir slams K Chandrasekhar Rao for fiscal crisis
Hyderabad: Congress senior leader Mohammed Ali Shabbir strongly condemned Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for his delayed reaction to the economic crisis in the state.
Mr Shabbir Ali, in a statement on Sunday, said it was shocking that the Chief Minister had realised about the effects of the economic slowdown after eight months of the financial year had gone by.
Mr Shabbir Ali said the Chief Minister had caused huge damage by wrongly calling Telangana state rich and revenue surplus. By doing so, he deprived the state of various Central funds.
Mr Shabbir Ali, a former leader of Opposition in the Council. advised Chief Minister to take an all-party delegation to Delhi to meet Prime Minister Narender Modi on the issue. He said Mr Chandrasekhar Rao must learn to act in a collective manner than taking individual decisions
While welcoming Mr Chandrasekhar Rao’s decision to reduce the expenditure for all the departments he said “Rao should begin this by cutting down his own personal expenditure. He should stop travelling by chartered flights and helicopters till the financial situation improves. The expenditure on Pragathi Bhavan should be slashed.”
