Tenders soon for Disneyland' at KRS dam
Bengaluru: The state government plans to float tenders to upgrade Brindavan Gardens at KRS dam on the lines of the famed Disneyland Park, according to water resources minister D K Shivakumar.
He told the media on Saturday that work would be allotted to a firm of international repute through a tender. The entire cost of the park would be borne by the firm and not even a rupee from the state’s coffers. Final touches to the detailed project report would be given after consulting Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, and process of floating the tender would commence soon, he added.
Mr Shivakumar said the coalition government had announced two important projects in its maiden budget the Mekedatu dam, and the Disneyland Park at KRS dam. The CM has constituted a committee comprising eminent personalities from various walks of life, including engineers, members from erstwhile royal family of Mysuru, and elected representatives of Mysuru, Mandya, Kodagu and Hassan to deliberate on the Rs 1500 crore project which would provide employment directly or indirectly to 50,000 people.
