Temple chief refutes talk of irregularities

Mr Gauranga Babu said that efforts are on to end all disputes among the employees in the Durga temple and ensure they don't recur.

Vijayawada: Kanakadurga Temple Trust Board chairman Y. Gauranga Babu on Saturday asserted that there were no irregularities in the purchase of mementos for the temple during the Navaratri celebrations.

Reacting to allegations of irregularities by various people, Mr Gauranga Babu said that some disputes arose over some quick decisions taken by the temple executive officer and this may have resulted in rumours of irregularities floating around.

“To safeguard the image of the temple, we are trying to bring about a compromise between the EO and AEO,” he said. Mr Gauranga Babu said that the temple board will take a decision on cancellation of the suspension of the three employees of the temple. “We are willing to take back the suspended outsourced employee,” he added.

Mr Gauranga Babu said that efforts are on to end all disputes among the employees in the Durga temple and ensure they don’t recur.

“We conducted and internal inquiry and it was found that there were no irregularities in the purchase of mementos. As chairman of the temple board, I have taken the decision to take back the three employees who were suspended and also the outsourced employee,” he said.
