CHENNAI: Chennai, Dec 8: Close on the heels of the huge success of his first home production Pariyerum Perumal, celebrated directed Pa Ranjith has now announced the launch of the second film from his Neelam Productions.

'Irandamulaga Porin Kadaisi Gundu' will be directed by Athiyan Athirai and have Attakathi Dinesh, who had starred in Ranjith's debut film, in the lead.

"Elated to announce my 2nd production venture", tweeted Ranjith on Saturday, while posting the first poster that has Dinesh squatting on the bonnet of a truck with a tea glass in the hand and staring at the sky. From the look of his dress-checked lungi and khakhi shirt-it appears the hero is a truck driver in 'Gundu'.

The film's music will be composed by Tenma, who is part of Ranjith's unique performing arts initiative aimed at socio-economic uplift known as 'Casteless Collective'. Kishore Kumar will be the cinematographer, while Selva is editing the film, Ramalingam is the art director and Anthony BJ Ruban the sound designer. Sam is the stunt director.

While basking under the big success of his Rajinikanth starrers, Kabali and Kaala, Pa Ranjith has been actively supporting his assistants to do films independently. His Neelam Productions' first movie, Pariyerum Perumal was done by Mari Selvaraj. It had a very modest opening with limited release in September this year but went on to become one of the biggest hits in recent time, in terms of both critical acclaim as well as commercial success, because of good word of mouth.

Pa Ranjith has also announced he would soon be directing a Hindi film on tribal leader Birsa Munda who had fought against the British.
