K Chandrasekhar Rao tells NTPC to stick to power plant timeline
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has told the NTPC to complete work on the Ramagundam power station within the stipulated time. Mr Rao on Friday visited the site where NTPC is setting up its 2x800 MW units, part of the 4,000 MW thermal station. NTPC executive director Dilip Kumar Dubey said the corporation would complete the first unit of power plant by May 2020 and the second within six months after that.
Mr Rao said several irrigation projects and lift irrigation schemes were under construction in the state, and would require power. In view of this, work on the power projects have to be completed at the earliest. Mr Rao said the government was ready to supply water required for the construction and maintenance of power plants. TSGenco chairman and managing director D. Prabhakar Rao briefed Mr Rao about the status of construction of power plants.
