Visakhapatnam: Human resource personnel should equip themselves with the latest tools and skill sets as technology is a critical enabler in skill upgradation and competency management, Andhra Pradesh Human Resources Development Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said here in a conference on Friday. He said that HR departments should give priority to utilise updated technologies. They should use the artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data analytics, virtual reality and the Internet of Things (IoT).

The Vizag Chapter of Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD) has organised a national conference to create a platform where HR professionals can share their insights on the latest available technologies. ISTD Vizag Chapter chairman Debashis Rey said, “HR professionals can analyse employee data using software tools to predict the future. This will help address manpower planning and a number of challenges. The managers can also bargain reasonably with the worker unions with the most modern HR analytics.” PeopleSoft and HRIS are some of the human resource management systems a company can rely on for the employee analysis and quality control. These software tools will aid in better understanding of the changing HR arena and how converging technologies can create value for a company, he informed.
