Soldier Attacked for Refusing Disha App, Raises Concerns on Cyber Fraud

Vijayawada: Telugu Desam national general secretary N. Lokesh condemned the police attack on a soldier identified as Syed Aleemullah recently for refusing to download the Disha app on his mobile phone at Santabayalu in Parawada mandal in Anakapalli district.

Lokesh told mediapersons here on Wednesday that the police constables M. Mutyala Naidu and Shobharani approached the soldier and asked him to download the Disha app on his mobile phone and asked for the OTP and when the soldier expressed concerns over cyber fraud and asked for identity cards of the constables, the male constable grabbed his collar and pulled him down and kicked while the female constable slapped him on his jaw.

He slammed the YSRC government for failing to provide protection for a soldier who would risk his life to protect the country. He also pointed out that violence against the women was continuing in the state and alleged that the Disha Act lacked proper direction.
