Indian Army soldier killed in encounter in poonch

New Delhi: An Indian Army soldier was killed on Friday during infiltration bid by terrorists at Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir.

A news agency report said that the terrorists could be part of BAT team which had infiltrated into this side of LoC.

On the intervening night of November 7 and 8, Indian Army noticed “suspicious movement of terrorists” in the area along with ceasefire violation by the Pakistan army.

Indian Army ambushed the infiltrating terrorists.

“However, in the ensuing exchange of fire, sepoy Rahul Bhairu Sulagekar sustained gunshot wounds and was evacuated to nearest Medical Aid Centre wherein he was provided medical aid and resuscitation,” said Army spokesperson.

However, Sulagekar succumbed to the injuries. Sulagekar, 21, belonged to Uchagaon village of Belgavi district in Karnataka. He is survived by his mother.
