Edappadi K Palaniswami urged to set up monitoring panel for kids

Latha said that the Chief Minister gave her a patient hearing and assured of a good decision soon on her plea.

Chennai: Latha Rajinikanth, wife of the southern superstar Rajinikanth, called on the Chief Minister, Mr. Edappadi K Palaniswami here on Friday and urged him to set up a state-level monitoring committee to ensure the safety and protection of all children.

She told reporters after meeting Mr. Palaniswami at the secretariat, that Tamil Nadu had taken various steps to protect the interests of children and was doing well on this front. Yet, crimes against children were on the rise and they needed to be put and to, Latha Rajinikanth urged.

She said that the Chief Minister gave her a patient hearing and assured of a good decision soon on her plea. “This committee should include officials from departments of Education, Health and Social Defence, besides lawyers and domain experts, and I stressed this aspect with the Chief Minister,” added Latha Rajinikanth.
