Did divine intervention help state JD(S) president and former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy resume his Vikas Yatra, which came to a halt at Mugulivalli village of Chikkamagaluru on Wednesday? The Yatra of Mr Kumaraswamy, in a modified bus, was held up for about half-an-hour at Mugulivalli after the bus developed technical problems. Efforts by mechanics failed to solve the problem. The incident is said to have occurred at around 11 am. After having breakfast at the house of Dharampal in the village, Mr Kumaraswamy boarded the bus and the vehicle had covered a little distance when it came to a halt. The bus driver did his best to start the vehicle but failed. The yatra was held up leading to anxious moments. It was then that a few villagers turned to the village presiding deity Kariyamma Devi seeking a solution. They broke coconuts and their prayers were answered by the deity when the bus suddenly whirred into action. This led to smiles all around in the village.
