As of now in order to streamline the system and make it effective, a No open manhole' policy has been put.
The drive has been conducted in co-ordination with the traffic and law and order police officials.
Hyderabad: Fibre reinforced plastic manhole covers will replace the existing reinforced concrete ones in the city. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has decided to constitute a committee with Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board and civic body officials to chalk out a comprehensive manhole policy.
As of now in order to streamline the system and make it effective, a ‘No open manhole’ policy has been put in place under which any damaged cover shall be replaced within 24 hours and missing covers will be placed within five hours after receiving the complaint.
