Hyderabad: A nikah ceremony was disturbed for a while at Shastripuram on Sunday night because of haggling between the deputies of different qazis. Both insisted on solemnising the nikah, saying that the MS Garden function hall, the venue of the ceremony, was under their jurisdiction.
Naib qazi Ibrahim Ali claimed that his qazi Zaheeruddin had government orders in his favour, naib qazi Basharat Ali Khan asserted that his chief Mohd Shujauddin Khazi Gazibanda had occupied the seat on the orders of the High Court.
