Chennai: V.K. Sasikala, the sacked general secretary of AIADMK who is out on parole, on Sunday met her ailing husband M. Natarajan for the second consecutive day at the hospital where he has just undergone a kidney and liver transplant.
Sources said Sasikala arrived at the Gleneagles Global Health City at around 11.15 am on Sunday and spent nearly three hours at the hospital. They said she was allowed to meet her husband Natarajan at the ICU and doctors treating him briefed her about his health condition.
Sources said Natarajan was conscious when Sasikala met him, but his condition continues to be critical but stable. Natarajan underwent twin transplant surgery on Wednesday last at the Global Hospital after a kidney and liver were harvested from a 19-year-old youth who was declared “brain-dead” following a mishap.
On Sunday, a host of AIADMK leaders, including Nanjil Sampath and C.R. Saraswathi, thronged the T. Nagar residence of Sasikala’s niece where the long time aide of late J. Jayalalithaa has been staying since Sunday.
However, none of the leaders went inside the residence to meet Sasikala since the Parapana Agrahara prison authorities have imposed stringent conditions while granting parole.
Sasikala reciprocated the wishes and greetings of sloganeering AIADMK cadres outside the residence while getting into her car.
