Tamil Nadu: Balaji to be cremated with military honours
The chopper on an air maintenance mission had taken off from the Khirmu helipad near Tawang and was on its way to Yangste.
Chennai:The mortal remains of E.Balaji, one of the victims of the helicopter crash in Arunachal Pradesh, was brought to Chennai on Sunday. Sources said he would be cremated on Monday with full military honours in Kolapakkam at around 11 am.
Balaji was one of the seven military personnel killed on Friday when a Mi-17 helicopter of the Indian Air Force crashed near Tawang at around 7 in the morning. The chopper on an air maintenance mission had taken off from the Khirmu helipad near Tawang and was on its way to Yangste.
This the second incident involving IAF helicopters in Arunachal Pradesh in three months. An Advanced Light Helicopter of the IAF had crashed at Saglee in Papum Pare district on July 4, claiming the lives of all four on board.
