Hyderabad: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind faults new Haj policy
The Central Haj Committee and the minority affairs minister should focus on arrangements for the Haj and not go beyond it.
Hyderabad: The Jamaat-e-Islami Hind said that the Centre was interfering with the Shariat (Islamic law) by planning to introduce a new Haj policy without taking feedback of the Muslim community.
Jamaat-e-Islami Hind TS and Odisha unit president Hamed Mohammed Khan the Centre cannot change the law according to its will. “Religion does not accord permission to woman to go on Haj without a mehram (male escort). There's no question of the government allowing women above 45 years of age to go without mehram. It is nothing but direct interference in Shariat”, he said.
