Complaint filed against Rahul Gandhi over khoon ki dalali' remark
Lucknow: A complaint has been filed against Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi in a court in Chandauli district over his ‘khoon ki dalali’ remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The complaint has been filed by a local lawyer Sadanand Singh and the hearing on the same has been fixed for October 25.
Talking to reporters, the complainant said that he had been hurt by Mr Gandhi’s statement which sought to ‘defame and lower the dignity of the Prime Minister’.
He said that Mr Gandhi’s statement was a fit case for penal action under section 500 of the IPC which says that whoever defames another shall be punished with simple imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both.
Mr Singh also alleged that at a time when soldiers are sacrificing their lives in honour of the country, such leaders are indulging in cheap politics by making these controversial remarks which are ‘designed to harm the popularity of the Prime Minister’.
Mr Gandhi, on October 6, had said in his speech in Delhi, “Jinhone Hindustan ke liye surgical strike kiye hain, unke khoon ke peeche aap chhupe hain. Unki aap dalali kar rahe ho. Yeh bilkul galat hai. (You (Modi) are hiding behind the blood of soldiers in J&K and those who carried out the surgical strikes. You are exploiting their sacrifices, which is wrong)”.
