Hyderabad: The TRS on Saturday condemned the remarks made by party leader Konda Surekha against the party leadership and stated the party would not yield to ‘blackmailing tactics’ of the Konda family. TRS MLA Shambhipur Raju and women wing president Gundu Sudha Rani said it was the TRS which gave the Konda family "political rebirth" in 2014 after they quit the Congress and the YSRC.
"Konda Surekha should realise that by criticising big leaders, she cannot become a big leader. She should not forget that KCR and KTR gave her and her husband Konda Murali political life after they were thrown out by all other parties. She has no stature to criticise tall leaders like KCR and KTR," Mr Raju said.
Ms Sudha Rani alleged that Ms Surekha had laid unjust demands before the party high command, seeking tickets for herself, her husband and her daughter. Therefore the party leadership had withheld her nominations to discuss the issue and resolve the issue amicably.
"TRS will not encourage Congress culture of offering family packages while giving tickets. The party considers only those candidates who are disciplined and work sincerely for the party," she said. She suggested that the Konda family float a party of their own if they really felt confident that they enjoyed the support in all districts and could win elections independently.
