DMK leader issues legal notice to Krishnasamy
Chennai: Former DMK legislator S.S. Sivasankar has issued notice to Puthiya Thamizhagam leader K. Krishnasamy demanding unconditional apology for the latter’s statements linking the MLA to the death of Ariyalur student Anitha.
Sivashankar also warned Krishnasamy that he would initiate civil and criminal proceedings against PT leader. He further stated in the notice that the statements had been made maliciously to harm the reputation and dignity of Sivashankar who said Krishnasamy had not stated the basis of his statements or provided proof of the same. Before making any such false statements against Siva Shankar, that too in a press conference, Krishnasamy ought to have ascertained the veracity of his statements, the notice said.
The MLA charged Krishnasamy with making defamatory, false and intentionally scandalous and scurrilous statements against Sivasankar without any basis.
The PT leader’s statement that the MLA induced Anitha to commit suicide was not only disrespectful to the memory of the deceased child but also highly malicious, false and blatant, the notice said.
“Such accusation insults the memory of the brave girl, her family and her fellow students who are now protesting on her behalf”.
