Chennai: The School, Sishya find place in top 10
Chennai: The 10th annual Education World India School Rankings (EWISR) 2016, released on Thursday in Bengaluru, features many Tamil Nadu schools including those from Chennai in the top 10 rankings nationwide.
EWISR is a survey that rates and ranks country’s top 1,000 schools in 13 categories including day boys, girls, co-ed and day-cum boarding, boarding and international schools.
The Schoo,l KFI, Adyar, Chennai and Sishya School, Adyar, ranked number seven and nine respectively in the day co-ed school category.
DAV Boys Senior Secondary School, Gopalapuram was ranked at number seven in the boys day schools category.
In the International Residential Schools category, Good Shepherd International School, Ooty, topped the list, Kodaikanal International School at second position, Hebron School, Ooty, number four and SCAD World School, Coimbatore, at eighth position.
Kendriya Vidyalaya, IIT Madras, Chennai, ranked at number two in the state in the government day schools category, Sankalp, Chennai and Alpha to Omega, Chennai ranked number 10 and 13 respectively in the special needs schools category.
Little Flower Matriculation Hr Sec School, Chennai, Angels Babyland Matriculation Hr Sec School, Chennai, St. Theresa’s Matriculation Hr Sec School, Chennai, St. Mary’s Nursery & Primary School, Chennai, Milton Nursery and Primary School, Chennai, St. Moses Matriculation School, Chennai, Grace Matriclation School, Chennai are ranked most admired budget private schools in top 25 rankings in the state.
A total of 10,301 parents, teachers, principals, educationists and senior students in 28 cities countrywide were interviewed by 140 field researchers of the well-reputed market research and opinion polls company Centre for Forecasting and Research Pvt. Ltd to rate and rank 1,000 of the country’s most well-known schools against 14 parameters of education excellence.
The country’s top-ranked schools will be felicitated in New Delhi on September 23-24.
