Bengaluru traffic hit a day before bandh

With petrol bunks to remain closed on Friday, there were long queues of vehicles in front of various petrol pumps.

Bengaluru: A night before the state bandh, in the wake of release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu, the city traffic flow got badly hit on Thursday due to the forthcoming long weekend and the St Mary Feast procession.

With petrol bunks to remain closed on Friday, there were long queues of vehicles in front of various petrol pumps. Due to the long weekend there was heavy traffic on roads leading towards Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

The Bengaluru traffic police officials took to social networking site Twitter and stated, “ Our policemen are present at each junction & putting maximum effort to manage traffic.”

According to a police, the city witnessed traffic jams in areas such as Koramangala 5th Block, Koramangala water tank junction towards Sony world signal, Dairy circle towards Madiwala, Garebhavi Palya Junction, Queen’s statue circle from Minsk square Junction, K.R Circle towards Hudson circle on Nrupathunga road.
