Tirupati Police Recover 450 Stolen or Lost Mobile Phones

TIRUPATI: The Tirupati district police have recovered 450 stolen or lost mobile phones worth an estimated Rs 81 lakh. The phones were recovered as part of the police department's "Mobile Hunt" initiative to help people track down their lost or stolen phones.

Speaking to the media, Tirupati Superintendent of police (SP) P. Parameswara Reddy said that the "Mobile Hunt" initiative has been very successful, with over 1,630 mobile phones recovered so far. He said that the phones have been recovered from various parts of the country, including West Bengal, Maharashtra, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu.

The SP said that the "Mobile Hunt" initiative is a win-win for both the police and the public. The police are able to recover stolen or lost phones, and the public is able to get their phones back quickly and easily. He urged the public to register their mobile phones with the central equipment identity register (CEIR) so that they can be easily tracked down if they are lost or stolen.
