Vijayawada: Slamming the YSR Congress for repeating the demands put forth earlier by the TD regime regarding sanction of special status to the state and funding mega projects like Amaravati and Polavaram, BJP official spokesperson and MP G.V.L Narasimha Rao made it clear that the kind of response given to the TD government by the Centre was applicable to the present dispensation in the state too.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Thursday, the BJP MP wondered how could there be a dramatic change in the attitude of the Centre towards AP on such issues. However, he said that they wanted to give six months time to the YSR Congress before critically scrutinising its governance in the state.
Referring to the construction of Ramayapatnam major port, the BJP MP said that if the state government could write an official letter to the Centre seeking sanction for the same, the Centre would sanction it and get the works done soon.and flayed the TD regime for not cooperating with the Centre on construction of the port.
He vowed to put in efforts to get support from all the departments concerned to complete Polavaram project.works at the earliest.
Regarding the recently held Parliamentary sessions, the MP claimed credit for passage of 32 bills pertaining to Abolition of Article 370 providing special status to Jammu and Kashmir, ban imposed on the practice of triple Talaq, National Medical Commission and others.
