Telangana state told not to finalise guest lectures selection

They urged the court to direct authorities to continue them in service without reference to the proceeding of the commissioner.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday directed the Telangana state government not to finalise the selection process for engaging guest lecturers in government junior colleges of the state for a period of two weeks. Justice P. Naveen Rao, while dealing with the petition by Sk Yakub Pasha and 56 other junior lecturers working in government junior colleges, granted the interim order.

The petitioners urged the court to declare the proceedings issued by the Commissioner of Intermediate Education on July 25, 2018, without providing the opportunity for engaging the guest faculty who are working the present academic year and who are continuing from the commencement of academic year of Intermediate courses as illegal.

They urged the court to direct authorities to continue them in service without reference to the proceeding of the commissioner. The judge directed the respondents to file their counter-affidavit by August 13.
